Christening Preparations: Update 3 - Souvenirs

I am really excited to see the souvenirs that I ordered for Jacobo’s baptism. I just searched for Souvenir suppliers in Multiply and I discovered the nice clay works of EroseJazz.

I just inquired online after I selected the items that I am interested in from the pictures of her sample works in her multiply site. Her price is affordable considering she will spend a great deal of time in doing this as I think everything is hand made. I showed my selections to hubby and send my orders today after hubby’s approval.

These are the items that I ordered:

.: Milk Bottle with pacifier keychain :.
.: Pacifier key chain :.
.: Hand and foot print key chain :.

I deposited 50% down payment today so they can start with the production and the lead time is 2 weeks. I have yet to call them tomorrow to finalize my order for the souvenir for the God parents.

One item down from my checklist for Jacobo’s baptism.

Christening Preparations: Update 2

Hubby wants to try a new investment and is planning to buy gold coins but looks like he will be postponing this for now as I just talked to him about the budget that he has to allocate for the baptism of Jacobo.

We really want Jacobo to be baptized before he turns two months old and before I go back to work so we set his baptism to be held on August 22, 2010. I created the guest list already and the budget sheet and presented to hubby (my manger) and he already approved it.

So far, we already booked:

• Archbishop’s Palace as the church venue
• Paid the reservation already at Jade Palace and we will come back on the second week August to pay the 50% down payment and finalize the menu.
• Paid 50% down payment already for the souvenirs and I am still finalizing my orders for the gifts for the God parents.
• Ordered cake from Frupcakes and I will pay the 50% down payment on August 6.
• Ordered Jacobo’s baptism attire from Mrs. Prim and I will just deposit the down payment this week.
• The RL attire that I ordered online for Jacobo’s reception attire arrived already.

So the only thing that is left for us to do is the invitation which I will ask hubby to do, the tarpaulin (care of hubby also) and I still have to look for a photographer for the event.

I only have less than a month to go but I think I still have enough time to accomplish all the things in my to-do list.

Happy 1st Month Bday

Last July 21 was Jacobo’s first month birthday. It has been the usual tradition for our family that we celebrate the birthday for babies in our family monthly starting from one month to 1 year old. We did the same thing with B and so we will be doing the same thing again with Jacobo.

We only want a simple celebration but on the day of Jacobo’s birthday, I thought that we will be using our outdoor furniture to accommodate our relatives as it turned out to be one big celebration for a one month birthday. LOL. My aunt, who is Jacobo’s grand mother, was the official party planner and she organized the whole party. She even bought balloons and party hats to make it look like one real birthday party. She was also the one who cooked all the food that was served that day. We had spaghetti (as per my request), fried chicken, buco pandan, and pistachio cake from Amici (which is our only contribution. LOL).

Of course all my relatives are excited to see Jacobo now that he is one month already so they all grace our invitation. They even brought gifts with them. LOL.

We are really thankful that it was a smooth sailing and healthy first month for our dear Jacobo.

His First Pedia Checkup

We brought Jacobo for his first Pedia checkup last July 21, his first month birthday. He has colds that day but with no fever so his doctor still gave him his scheduled Hepa 2 vaccine.

The doctor’s assistant put Jacobo in the weighing scale and boy I was surprise at his weight. From 6.5 pounds when he was born, he now weighs 9.9 pounds. He has also increased in length as he is now 21 inches from 19 inches a month ago.

I also asked his doctor about his possible reflux problem and she said that it is okay for his age and it will eventually go away. She just suggested that we put Jacobo in an elevated position after feeding to avoid spitting up.

We also got Jacobo’s New born screening result and all are negative which we are really very thankful for.

We will be going back to his doctor on August 20 for his second checkup and he is scheduled for a 5 in 1 vaccine.

Hoping for Good News

Hubby is really working doubly hard now that Jacobo is here. He knows that our expenses will double so he is working out on something and we are hoping that this week will be his lucky week so he will get the good news. I don’t want to give the details about it yet as I don’t want to pre-empt the results but there is a 50-50 chance already that it will be good news so we just need to continue praying.

But hubby is really excited as he is already planning about a lot of things if ever we get the good news. He even promised me already that he will buy me one of those netbooks as I will soon loose my current laptop and he knows that I need a replacement for it as my work depends on my laptop. He even wishes that if we get this good news, we will be able to afford to buy his dream car since we need a bigger car now that our family is growing.

I know hubby work hard for this and he really deserves it so I am really hoping that with prayers and with the power of his talisman, we will soon announce the good news here.
